About Us

Pixybug Designs was established on April 1, 2007.

Our business began with a gift of a single pendant given to Stephanie for her birthday.   Stephanie began beading with that single gift, and after their home began to look like a bead avalanche disaster site, Chris gave Stephanie an ultimatum…”Stop buying beads or start selling what you make”!  Stephanie took him at his word and Pixybug Designs was born.  In July of that year when a lampworking class opportunity presented itself, Stephanie issued an ultimatum of her own…”If I am going to do this, then so are you”!

Chris began his journey in lampworking glass and his world changed forever!  Chris began teaching himself to make marbles in 2009 and enjoys creating miniature sculptures, beads, buttons, small blown glass vessels, and cabochons.  Chris has had his glass work published in The Flow Magazine and Soda Lime Times, and has written glass working tutorials published in Soda Lime Times.

Stephanie LOVES beads!  She is a self proclaimed bead addict (also proclaimed by everyone who knows her) and loves to make unique wearable art.  Stephanie has had her “Heart of the Explorer” design published in Bead and Button Magazine (April/May 2015).  She has also worked as a blog partner for Artbeads, ZNetShows, and participated in many online beading blog hops and design challenges.  Her first beading contest piece for The Hole Bead Shoppe “Day of the Dead” challenge, won first place. Stephanie continues to grow and adapt her beadwork to new techniques as well as using new materials in her bead designs.
